The Fuzzy Wuzzy Caterpillar
What’s inside this tiny egg
That no one can quite see?
Out pops a fuzzy caterpillar
As fat as he can be.
With rings of colors wrapped around,
He lives on leaves above the ground.
He eats and eats and will grow and grow.
What will he become?
Does anyone know?
One day while hanging from a tree,
He asks himself, “What’s happing to me?”
I’ve spun myself a silky new home.
No more on the leaves shall I roam.
Days pass and turn into weeks,
The creature inside the outside seeks.
The beautiful butterfly comes from inside.
It’s colorful wings no more to hide.
It’s flight is so graceful,
It’s beauty so unique.
Now this four-stage
Life cycle is complete.
