My Savior came down from Heaven one day
The price for our sins, He came down to pay
He carried the cross up Calvary's hill
He was nailed to the cross, "twas His own Father's
will.

He died on the cross, was laid in the grave
For the sins of this world, His own life He gave
The sun would not shine, the earth it did quake
And there at the tomb, the keepers did shake.
Six hours on the cross, three days in the tomb
The disciples were filled with sorrow and gloom
The grave opened wide, He rose from the dead
He paid for our sins just like He had said.
He was born as a child, yet He was King
When I hear the sweet news, it makes my heart sing
The world was in darkness while He lay in the tomb
Like a beautiful rose, after three days He bloomed.

When the winter winds blow, our hearts fill with gloom
We wonder how long till the sweet roses bloom
Be patient and faithful, some day He will come
To gather His roses and take them all home.

He was born as a child, yet He was a King
When I hear the sweet news, it makes my heart sing
the world was in darkness while He lay in the tomb
Like a beautiful rose, after three days He bloomed.
