But he was wounded for our transgressions,
he was bruised for our iniquities:
the chastisement of our peace was upon him;
and with his stripes we are healed
Isaiah Chapter 53 verse 5
Oh, that of a lowly manger
That once cradled a King
Not knowing of the joy
He would one day bring.
Tho' He is sought for often
Yet some surrender with no self denial
Seeking without their heart
Putting our King Jesus on daily trial.
Our King is not boastful
Love and mercy is His way
Tho' one day if He had called
Twelve legions of angels would obey.
He needed not prayers of the people
For He, Himself is Prayer
He needed not mercy of the scorners
For in Him is all power.
But for the love of His Father
And the love He held for you and me
He came willing to bear the Cross
Yielded up the Ghost that we may be free.
Free from the eternal lake of fire
A consolation that our burdens, He will bear
Blessings bestowed as we journey here
A robe and crown in Heaven to wear.
Take not His crucifixion lightly
That brought about the salvation plan
A way to flee the great wrath to come
By the humility of this great Man.
There on the Cross of Calvary
This fountain of love freely flowed
It's power is still flowing today
It's in the heart, Jesus takes up His abode.
How could enough praises be given
To this Man that loves us so much...
What could we ever do in return
For our blessed Saviour's healing touch.
Oh, The joy of deliverance from our sins
When we gave Him our life, our heart and soul
In humbleness at the Foot of Jesus
As His Blood covered and made us whole.
