Lord,
let us be thankful in heart
Not
words spoken to gain a high name
Or
feasting on words without sincerity
Causing our
glorifying to become lame.
Let
us be thankful for the little things
Thankful
for the children's smile
The
sincere nod of an elderly
That
has gone the extra mile.
For
the efforts of the feeble minded
Prayerful
for the poor in need
And
for the castaways
Whose
hearts continually bleed.
May
we think of the lonely
Whose dear
ones have passed away
Please
lift their spirit high
If
only for "Thanksgiving Day."
May
we think of those on the battlefield
Fighting
that we may be free
Bless
them to the highest
Please
hear our humble plea.
May
we remember the shut in
And
the nursing homes that day
Please let
their spirit be happy and free
Stay
by their bedside on Thanksgiving Day.
When
we gather on Thanksgiving Day
May
You be our main guest
And
may we thank You for all the blessings
For
it's in You that we are truly blest.

But
when thou makest a feast, call the poor, the
maimed, the
lame, the blind:And thou shalt be blessed; for
they cannot
recompense thee...
